Big Win for KMTC Students as President Ruto Opens Door to HELB Funding Following Kisii Student’s Appeal

President William Ruto has directed that students at the Kenya Medical Training College (KMTC) be allowed to access loans from the Higher Education Loans Board (HELB), following an appeal by a student from Kisii.

The decision marks a major breakthrough for thousands of KMTC learners who had long been excluded from the national student financing programme.

With the directive, KMTC students will now be eligible to apply for HELB loans, easing the financial burden of pursuing medical training.
