Salaried Kenyans Can Now Apply for HELB’s KSh600,000 Jielimishe Loan | How To Apply | Requirements
The Higher Education Loans Board (HELB) has opened applications for the 2026/27 Jielimishe Loan, offering salaried learners up to KSh600,000 to finance university, postgraduate, professional, and other approved higher education programmes.
The loan is tailored for employed Kenyans seeking to further their education while remaining in the workforce. It offers a competitive 10% annual interest rate, flexible repayment periods of 12 to 48 months, payroll check-off repayments, and credit life insurance for added financial protection.
Eligible applicants have been encouraged to apply through HELB’s online platform. The announcement follows the recent launch of applications for first-time undergraduate and TVET loans and scholarships for the 2026/27 academic year.
HELB reiterated that timely loan repayments help sustain the revolving fund, enabling more students to access higher education financing in the future.
