A grand reception is currently being organized at the village units in Lodwar to welcome Governor Jeremiah Lomorukai following weeks of absence from public view that had sparked widespread speculation among local residents.

The county boss is expected to land at the Lodwar Airstrip in the coming days after weeks of uncertainty surrounding his whereabouts. Groundwork mobilization is already underway with local leaders and supporters coordinating to give the governor a hero’s welcome.

The intense preparations follow Lomorukai’s public reappearance in Nairobi on Thursday afternoon, September 3, when he paid a high-profile visit to the ruling United Democratic Alliance (UDA) headquarters.

Lomorukai was accompanied by key Turkana political heavyweights, including former Turkana Central MP Lodepe Nakara and Senator John Munyes, and former Senate Speaker Ekwee Ethuro, among other notable figures.

The joint appearance at the party headquarters is widely interpreted by political analysts as a strategic move to align with the ruling coalition and secure the UDA ticket for his second-term gubernatorial bid.

As this was published, this publication had established that groundwork mobilization is undergoing at village units ahead of his return. However, it is not yet clear the exact day Lomorukai is expected in Turkana.
