KUCCPS Re-opens Applications for KMTC Placement | Here Is How To Apply

Last Updated on February 26, 2025 by Turkana County News Online
The Kenya Universities and Colleges Central Placement Service (KUCCPS) has reopened its online application portal for students seeking placement at the Kenya Medical Training College (KMTC). This move aims to fill remaining vacancies in 21 KMTC courses for the March 2025 intake.
Application Timeline
KUCCPS announced that the application portal will remain open until March 4, 2025, giving eligible candidates a chance to apply for available slots.
Previous Application Phase
Earlier this year, KUCCPS invited applications for KMTC and Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET) institutions. The initial application phase opened on January 24, 2025, targeting 2024 KCSE candidates interested in joining KMTC and TVET colleges.
To streamline the admission process, KUCCPS introduced a phased application system. This approach accommodates different institutional intake schedules, allowing seamless transitions for students.
“Universities and Teacher Training Colleges (TTCs) have intakes later in the year, while KMTC and TVETs admit students in January, March, and May. The phased application process ensures timely placements,” explained KUCCPS CEO Dr. Agnes Mercy Wahome.
Who Can Apply?
KUCCPS has outlined the eligibility criteria for applicants:
✔️ KCSE candidates from 2000 to 2024 are eligible to apply.
✔️ Students retaking their KCSE exams in 2025 can apply for KMTC and TVET programmes in the September intake.
✔️ Applications for degree programmes and TTCs will be announced at a later date.
Expansion of Training Opportunities
Dr. Wahome noted that training opportunities have increased at KMTC and TVET institutions. KMTC alone has expanded from 87 campuses in 2024 to 90 campuses in 2025.
Additionally, three new KMTC campuses have been established in Kerio Valley, Marimanti, and Marsabit, further enhancing access to medical training across the country.
How to Apply
Candidates interested in KMTC courses should log in to the KUCCPS online portal and submit their applications before the deadline.
