President William Ruto is scheduled to host a delegation from Turkana County at State House next week, in a high-level meeting expected to focus on development priorities and deepening cooperation between the national and county governments.
The meeting is set for Tuesday, August 5, 2025.
According to sources familiar with the agenda, the talks will touch on key issues affecting the county, including water access, education, infrastructure, insecurity along border regions, and ongoing drought mitigation programs.
The delegation is expected to include elected leaders, elders, youth representatives, and professionals from Turkana County.
The President is keen on strengthening ties with the arid and semi-arid region as part of his broader agenda of inclusive development and Bottom-Up Economic Transformation.
This visit comes at a time when Turkana leaders have been calling for increased national investment in the county to address historical marginalization and improve livelihoods.
