In the heart of Turkana North, one police officer is changing the game—literally.
Meet Corporal Okumu of Kibish Police Station, the passionate force behind the recent transformation of Kibish FC. As part of the Policing Through Sports initiative, he has personally outfitted the team with brand-new kits, a customized logo, and a team flag—all from his own pocket.
His mission? To build bridges through football, foster peace, empower the youth, and strengthen the bond between the police and the community they serve.
“This is our way of giving back, using sports to connect, build trust, and inspire,” said Corporal Okumu.
But Okumu’s vision goes beyond jerseys and goals—it’s about restoring pride, nurturing talent, and creating safe, positive spaces for young people in a region often overlooked.
Now, as a follow-up to the kit sponsorship, Kibish FC is in urgent need of football boots and shin guards to ensure the players can train and compete safely.
