The Kapoo school project in Turkana South, initiated by a team of local professionals, has gained attention following comedian Eric Omondi’s involvement in its completion.

Mr. Robert Lotaruk, a prominent member of the team, praised Eric’s efforts, describing them as commendable and consistent with the project’s mission to ensure timely completion.

However, Lotaruk expressed disappointment that the team was not informed of Eric’s plans to finalize the project. He emphasized their willingness to contribute further to the initiative and suggested that collaboration would yield greater benefits for the school and the community.

Report by Ayok TV indicate that in the initial stages, Lotaruk and his team successfully installed the structure and roofing, intending to complete the school as resources became available.

Eric Omondi has since stepped in to complete the project, while also enhancing support for the school by providing shoes and uniforms for the children, as well as improving teacher welfare.

In a touching gesture of gratitude, Omondi renamed the school after the volunteer teacher, Elizabeth Kamaret, who had dedicated her time and energy to teaching the children despite the harsh conditions. The move has been praised as a symbol of hope and a celebration of Kamaret’s unwavering commitment to education in Turkana.

The professionals now hope for better coordination to ensure the project’s success through joint efforts.
