SECURITY SCARE AT QUITOS LOUNGE AS GUNSHOTS SPARK STAMPEDE

Share This:

A night ofentertainment turned chaotic at Quitos Lounge on Kakuma Highway after unknown gunmen opened fire inside the club, causing panic and a stampede among over a thousand revellers.

The incident occurred at around 3:30 a.m., just moments before invited artistes—including Uganda’s Lil Keyz and several local Turkana performers—were set to take the stage. The attackers, who reportedly hurled stones and fired shots into the venue, sent revellers scrambling for safety, exposing the facility’s lack of proper emergency exits and backdoor escape routes.

In the chaos, many guests fled without settling their bills, leading to significant financial losses for the club owner. Several people sustained injuries during the stampede and are currently recovering.

The security breach has raised concerns about the preparedness of entertainment venues in the area to handle emergencies, especially during large events. Authorities are investigating the incident, and no arrests had been made at the time of reporting.
