Gulf Energy E&P has announced a major recruitment drive, seeking to fill 39 technical, operations and leadership positions as it gears up for Kenya’s historic first commercial oil production from the South Lokichar Basin in Turkana County.

The vacancies, which are spread across Turkana, Nairobi and Mombasa, cover a wide range of fields including engineering, drilling, production operations, geology, logistics, finance, communications, environmental management and human resources.

The recruitment comes as the company works towards a key milestone of delivering first oil by December 1, 2026, a project expected to transform Kenya’s energy sector and unlock new economic opportunities for Turkana and the country at large.

In its announcement, Gulf Energy E&P said it is looking for highly skilled professionals with strong technical expertise, integrity and a commitment to excellence. The company also encouraged qualified candidates from Turkana and host communities to apply, in line with its local content objectives.

The South Lokichar Basin project is Kenya’s first commercial oil development and is expected to create jobs, attract investment and contribute significantly to national economic growth.

Applications must be submitted online through Gulf Energy’s careers portal by June 26, 2026, at 5:00 p.m. EAT. Only shortlisted candidates will be contacted, and canvassing will result in automatic disqualification.
