A new opinion poll by Swiss Poll International has revealed an increasingly competitive race for the Turkana County senatorial seat as political alignments begin to take shape ahead of the 2027 General Election.
According to the survey, Lawyer Sudais Ekusi Lore is currently leading with 35% voter support. He is followed by Hon. John Munyes Kiyong’a, who garnered 24%, while Hon. Sylvia Lapur Eipa comes in close at 21%, underscoring a tight contest among the top three contenders.
Eng. Fredrick Ejore secured 11% support, while Hon. Jackson Ekaru Nakusa trails with 3%. Notably, 6% of respondents remain undecided, indicating that the race is still fluid and open to shifts as campaigns intensify.
The poll was conducted with a sample size of 1,063 respondents, a 95% confidence level, and a ±3% margin of error, providing a snapshot of current voter sentiment across the county.
Analysts say the results point to a dynamic and evolving political landscape in Turkana, with no outright winner yet emerging.
As the 2027 elections draw closer, voter engagement, policy positions, and grassroots mobilization are expected to play a decisive role.
Ultimately, the final decision rests with the voters.
