Turkana North MP Nabuin Claims Governor Lomorukai Spent Over KSh100 Million on Nanam, Lakezone By-Elections

Turkana North MP Ekuwom Nabuin has alleged that Governor Jeremiah Lomorukai’s administration spent more than KSh100 million during the Nanam and Lake Zone ward by-elections.
Nabuin accused the county government of deploying excessive financial resources in the campaigns, claiming public funds were diverted to influence voter decisions.
The MP also cited a separate incident he claims took place ahead of the polls, alleging he encountered more than 120 people gathered at the residence of a school headteacher, reportedly waiting to receive KSh5,000 each in exchange for votes.
In Nanam Ward, UDA candidate Cosmas Long’or won with 1,543 votes, ahead of ODM’s Mohammed Ahmed Yusuf, who secured 713 votes.
In Lake Zone Ward, UDA candidate John Namesek Erot clinched victory with 3,559 votes, followed by UDM’s John Meyan with 1,712 votes, while ODM’s Stephen Ekiru Locholil, popularly known as Obiro, finished third with 1,082 votes.
As of publication, Governor Lomorukai and his administration had not responded to the allegations.
