Abraham Losinyen has spoken out after losing in the Turkana County Assembly Speaker’s election held on March 13, 2025.

Speaking to the media outside the County Assembly, Mr. Losinyen graciously accepted the outcome and congratulated Mr. Charles Lokiyoto, the Speaker-elect.

The contest had attracted at least six candidates (Charles Lokiyoto, Abraham Losinyen, Lodepe Nakara, Dr. Daniel Ingolan, Samuel Eregae and Jeremiah Apalia), but it was Charles Lokiyoto who emerged victorious in the second round, securing 30 votes against Losinyen’s 14.

The Speaker’s position became vacant after Christopher Nakuleu resigned just days after an impeachment motion against him was tabled by Kalokol Ward MCA, Michael Ebenyo.
