Fake EACC Directors Busted in Bungoma Bribery Scandal

In Bungoma, two university students have been arrested after a daring scheme to impersonate top EACC officials and extort bribes from government workers.
Tobias Singila Wekesa, 23, and Sharon Nanjala Anyango, 26, stormed an NG-CDF office in Bungoma County, posing as investigators scrutinizing local projects. They demanded bribes, threatening severe sanctions if their demands weren’t met.
Wekesa boldly claimed to be the “Director of EACC Kakamega County,” a completely fictitious title, while Anyango presented herself as the “Director at EACC Nairobi.”
Their bluff was called, and they are now cooling their heels at Bungoma Central Police Station as investigations continue.
