Turkana Governor Jeremiah Lomorukai has confirmed that he has been summoned to appear before the National Cohesion and Integration Commission (NCIC) in Nairobi on Monday, amid ongoing investigations into the recent surge in banditry attacks along the Turkana–West Pokot border.

Speaking during a public event, Governor Lomorukai revealed that he is ready to honour the summons, emphasizing his commitment to peace and accountability.

“I have been summoned by NCIC, na niko tayari kwenda, hata kama ni America,” he said, assuring residents that he will cooperate fully with the authorities.

The NCIC is reportedly probing the causes of renewed tensions and retaliatory attacks between communities living along the volatile border, which have led to several deaths and displacements in recent weeks.

Governor Lomorukai reiterated his administration’s dedication to promoting lasting peace through dialogue and collaboration with neighbouring counties. He urged leaders from both sides to avoid inflammatory statements and instead work together to restore calm and security in the region.

The NCIC summons come amid growing national concern over rising cases of insecurity in parts of the North Rift, where inter-community conflicts continue to hinder development and peace efforts.
