JOB VACANCY: ISVD Announces Vacancy for Monitoring Officer Position | Requirements | How To Apply | Deadline

The Initiative for Suguta Valley Development (ISVD) is seeking qualified candidates to fill the position of Monitoring Officer on a contract basis. The successful applicant will report to the Director of ISVD and work on a full-time schedule of five-and-a-half days per week.

Duties and Responsibilities

The Monitoring Officer will:

a) Implement data collection activities and coordinate fieldwork with ISVD field and hydro monitors.

b) Ensure high-quality data collection through continuous training, feedback, and data cleaning.

c) Support data collection and reporting activities across the Suguta Valley landscape.

d) Plan surveys, train data collectors, collect and clean data, and conduct basic data analysis.

e) Assist Unit Coordinators in monitoring and reporting activities.

f) Support community-based monitoring, conservation planning, restoration efforts, reporting, and documentation.

G) Perform any other duties assigned by the supervisor.

Qualifications and Experience
Applicants should possess qualifications and experience in any of the following fields:

1. Conservation

2. Wildlife Management

3. Natural Resource Management

4. Forestry

5. Rangeland Management

6. Geography

7. Biological Sciences

Additional requirements:

Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, and Word.

Experience using SMART, EarthRanger, GIS, or other data collection tools will be an added advantage.
