Govt Disburses Kshs. 2.4 Billion for April Inua Jamii Cash Transfer to Support Vulnerable Beneficiaries

The Ministry of Labour and Social Protection has released Kshs. 2.4 billion for the April 2026 cycle of the Inua Jamii Cash Transfer Programme,to support vulnerable households across the country.
In a statement issued on April 30, the ministry said the funds will benefit 1,213,066 registered beneficiaries, including older persons aged 70 years and above and persons living with severe disabilities.
Each beneficiary will receive Kshs. 2,000, with payments having commenced on April 30. The government noted that the programme is expected to provide timely relief to vulnerable populations grappling with the rising cost of living.
The government reaffirmed that the Inua Jamii programme remains a key pillar of social protection in Kenya, aimed at reducing poverty and improving the well-being of the most at-risk members of society.
Principal Secretary for Social Protection and Senior Citizen Affairs, Joseph M. Motari, said the programme continues to play a critical role in cushioning the country’s most vulnerable citizens while promoting dignity and inclusion.

The Inua Jamii initiative targets elderly citizens and persons with severe disabilities, offering regular financial support to help meet basic needs and enhance their quality of life.
