ODM Faces Fresh Turmoil as Orengo Alleges Party Is Being Sold to Highest Bidder
As this was published, the ODM leadership is yet to formally respond to the allegations, but the claims are likely to intensify debate within the party as it navigates internal cohesion and succession politics in the run-up to the next election cycle.

The Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) is facing renewed internal turmoil amid claims that powerful individuals within its ranks are selling out the party to the highest bidder.
Siaya Governor James Orengo has alleged that he possesses evidence to support claims of the alleged sale of the country’s second-largest political party. Speaking during a wide-ranging discussion on ODM’s future, Orengo warned that growing internal wrangles could tear the party apart if left unaddressed.
The outspoken governor accused unnamed senior figures of prioritising personal and financial interests over the party’s founding ideals, saying such actions threaten to weaken ODM’s standing nationally.
Further, he noted that internal divisions have increasingly overshadowed the party’s role as a key opposition force.
