Deputy President Kithure Kindiki struggled with visible shame after a female leader, who identified herself as being from the Turkana community, made sexually explicit remarks during a grassroots event, forcing organizers to cut off her microphone.
In a video that has since gone viral on social media, the woman is seen addressing the crowd alongside Kindiki when she suddenly strayed into vulgar language.
“Kama wamama, si mnajua usiku vile mnatufanya vizuri? Kitu ikikuwa ndani tunaskia vizuri, na ikitoka nje, tunaskia vizuri,” she said, before her microphone was abruptly muted.
The mic later resumed mid-speech, capturing her attempt to conclude on a political note.
“Kwa sababu mama ukimtenda vizuri, anaamka akisema ‘anaweza!’ Kwa hivyo sisi tunashukuru kuketi ndani ya serikali kwa sababu tayari waturkana wako ndani ya serikali,” she added, linking her remarks to the community’s representation in government.
