TURKANA, Former CECM Hon. Charles Lokiyoto and former Chief Officer of Finance Abraham Losinyen are rumored to be at odds over the potential succession of Turkana County Speaker, Christopher Nakuleu, should he be impeached.

Sources indicate that MCAs from Turkana North, Turkana South, and Loima constituencies are backing Lokiyoto, while those from Turkana East, Turkana Central, and Turkana West are rallying behind Abraham Losinyen.

As of now, Abraham Losinyen enjoys the support of 15 MCAs, while Lokiyoto has garnered backing from 10 MCAs. The remaining MCAs are yet to make their positions clear.

Insiders suggest that if an impeachment motion against Speaker Nakuleu is tabled in the county assembly, a majority of the MCAs are likely to support it. This leaves the undecided MCAs as the key battleground for both contenders, with both Lokiyoto and Losinyen working hard to sway their allegiance.

The race for succession has become highly competitive, and the outcome could significantly shape the future of Turkana County politics.
