A new wave of protests has erupted in Loima Constituency, with reports indicating that the demonstrations are being driven by individuals allied to the area’s incumbent MP, Protus Akuja.
This latest unrest appears to be a direct response to earlier protests held just days ago—demonstrations that some claim were orchestrated by factions within the Turkana County government.
At the center of the growing tension is an ongoing investigation by the Ethics and Anti-Corruption Commission (EACC) into the alleged embezzlement of KSh 600 million. Protesters are now calling for the swift prosecution of all 10 individuals implicated in the scandal, following the recent arrest of several senior county officials.
