Lodwar, The Kenya National Chamber of Commerce & Industry (KNCCI) Turkana Chapter has officially launched Jamii Biashara, a revolutionary B2B platform designed to connect local businesses with larger markets, enhance digital trade, and drive economic growth in the region.
Jamii Biashara is a key outcome of the Eldohub-ILO Innovation Challenge on Jobs for Refugees and Host Communities, which focuses on job creation, skills development, and social inclusion in Turkana and Garissa. The platform empowers vendors by providing digital tools, training, and financial access, fostering sustainable entrepreneurship in sectors such as agriculture, renewable energy, and digital solutions.
“This initiative is a game-changer for business growth in Turkana,” said Mr. Okumu Edward, Vice Chairperson at KNCCI Turkana. “By integrating innovative solutions and market access, we are driving economic resilience and long-term sustainability for local businesses.”
