Details of Key Resolutions Following Crucial ODM Central Management Committee Meeting

The Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) Central Management Committee (CMC) has released a set of resolutions following a high-level meeting convened to chart the party’s course in the wake of the passing of its iconic leader, the Right Hon. Raila Amolo Odinga.
In its communiqué, the committee expressed deep gratitude to the Government of Kenya for granting the late party leader a dignified and honorable state send-off, befitting his decades of service and immense contribution to the nation’s democratic journey.
One of the major resolutions from the meeting was the endorsement of Dr. Oburu Odinga as the new Party Leader of ODM. The committee cited his long-standing service, experience, and commitment to the ideals of the movement as guiding factors in its decision.
In honor of the late Raila Odinga, the committee announced that celebrations will be held across various parts of Kenya to commemorate his legacy and contribution to the country’s political and social transformation. These celebrations will culminate in the ODM@20 Anniversary, scheduled for 14th to 16th November 2025 in Mombasa, fulfilling the wishes of the departed leader who envisioned marking two decades of the party’s journey with unity and reflection.
Reaffirming the party’s foundational ethos, the committee emphasized the importance of upholding ODM’s values and principles at all times, encouraging members to “agree to disagree while remaining united” — a statement underscoring the party’s culture of internal democracy and tolerance for diverse opinions.
Additionally, the committee resolved that the ODM Party will remain part of the Broad-Based Government until 2027, reaffirming its commitment to national unity and constructive engagement in governance for the benefit of all Kenyans.
The resolutions mark a pivotal moment in ODM’s history as it seeks to honor its founding leader’s legacy while steering the party forward with renewed unity, discipline, and purpose.
