Death Toll Hits 25 in Kisumu-Kakamega Road Tragedy

The death toll from Friday’s horrific road accident at the Coptic area along the Kisumu-Kakamega road has risen to 25, authorities confirmed.

According to Nyanza Regional Traffic Enforcement Officer Peter Maina, the fatalities include 10 men, 10 women, an eight-month-old baby, and four others who succumbed to injuries while receiving treatment.

The crash occurred when a school bus ferrying mourners from Nyahera in Kisumu County rolled while navigating a sharp corner, leaving several others with critical injuries. Emergency responders rushed survivors to nearby hospitals as police launched investigations into the cause of the accident.
