A heated dispute has emerged over the ownership of a Facebook page previously associated with Apalotop Comedian, following its sale to Ayok Television Network. The controversy has sparked a debate across social media, with conflicting claims about the legitimacy of the ownership.
The Facebook page, once known for its connection to the popular comedian Apalotop, was allegedly rebranded and later sold for Ksh 20,000 to Ayok Television Network, the beginner media outlet. However, tensions began when Apalotop publicly raised concerns, alleging that the page was wrongfully taken from him without his consent.
In response, the self alleged ‘former page owner’, who had rebranded the account to support Apalotop’s career, came forward to clarify the situation. According to the individual, the page was initially owned by them and was sold only after a better offer from Ayok Television Network came through. They emphasized that Apalotop had been informed of the rebranding and that any issues should have been raised before the deal was finalized.
“I did Apalotop a favor by helping him rebrand the page to give it more exposure. When a better deal came along, I decided to sell it. Now some people are crying ‘stolen’ when the facts are clear,” the alleged former page owner stated.
Ayok Television Network, on the other hand, has dismissed the claims made by Apalotop and others, calling them mere “propaganda” intended to stir unnecessary drama. In a brief statement, the network declined to confirm or deny purchasing the page perhaps the page transparency history clearly shows that the page once bore the name of Comedian Apalotop.
The dispute has led to accusations of “clout chasing” and “misinformation,” with some critics arguing that the drama surrounding the page’s ownership is being exaggerated for attention. Meanwhile, Apalotop’s supporters have rallied behind the comedian, questioning the legitimacy of the sale and threatening to take a legal action.
As the row continues, many are left wondering whether the issue is a genuine misunderstanding or simply another case of social media drama. The question remains: Is this a real dispute, or just another example of “Story za Jaba” in the world of online celebrity feuds?
The final outcome may depend on the details of the original agreement and the parties involved, but for now, the tension continues to simmer, leaving followers divided and eager for a resolution.
