Tioko James

Tioko James is a visionary Electrical Engineer and media entrepreneur dedicated to driving innovation, community empowerment, and impactful storytelling. He currently serves with the Turkana County Government, Department of Public Works, where he contributes to the planning, installation, and maintenance of critical electrical systems that power public infrastructure and services. Beyond his engineering career, James is the Managing Director of Turkwave Media Services Limited, a creative media and communications company based in Turkana. Under his leadership, Turkwave Media has become a hub for digital storytelling, brand development, and visual communication, amplifying local voices and fostering positive narratives about Turkana and northern Kenya. Passionate about journalism and public communication, James also serves as a part-time News Editor, where he combines his technical precision with editorial insight to deliver credible and community-focused news coverage. Driven by excellence and a deep sense of purpose, James continues to bridge the worlds of technology, media, and community development using his skills to inform, inspire, and create meaningful change.
