Stick to the Pulpit, Not Economic Issues, CS Mbadi Tells Church Leaders
The CS urged church leaders to provide accurate information and encouraged Kenyans to submit their views through the official public participation channels.

Cabinet Secretary for the National Treasury and Economic Planning John Mbadi has criticised church leaders claiming that Kenyans have not been involved in the ongoing Finance Bill process, insisting that public participation is already underway.
Mbadi said he was surprised that leaders he considers knowledgeable are telling congregations that citizens have been sidelined. He stressed that churches should remain centres of spiritual nourishment rather than platforms for discussing economic or legislative matters.
“I am surprised to hear knowledgeable leaders on podiums and in churches saying Kenyans have not been involved this is the time for public participation . Churches should be reserved for spiritual nourishment, not economic issues. At this stage, we have several institutions involved in overseeing this transaction to ensure the process follows the law,” he said
He added that several institutions are overseeing the Finance Bill process to ensure every stage complies with the law.
