
The M-Pesa Foundation has officially invited applications from bright and needy Kenyan students for its 2026 scholarship program under the Citizens of the Future (CoF) initiative.
The program, a collaboration between the Safaricom Foundation and the M-Pesa Foundation, offers full scholarship opportunities aimed at promoting equitable access to quality education and nurturing the next generation of leaders and innovators in Kenya.
According to the foundation, the application deadline is Friday, May 15, 2026.
The scholarship targets students who will sit for the Grade 9 Kenya Junior School Education Assessment (KJSEA) in November 2026. Successful applicants will receive full funding for their senior school education starting January 2027, either at the M-Pesa Foundation Academy or at other selected schools across the country.
Application Requirements
Applicants are required to:
Fill out the 2026 application form
a) Attach copies of:
Birth certificate
Parent/guardian ID
Parent death certificate (where applicable)
Academic reports (Grade 6 KPSEA certificate)
Evidence of leadership and co-curricular activities
Payslip of parent/guardian (if employed)
Bank or M-Pesa statement
b) Applicants are also advised to write their full name in capital letters on each page in case the documents separate.
c) For online applications, all documents must be scanned and submitted as a single PDF file. The foundation emphasizes that all sections of the form must be filled by the student in their own handwriting.
c) Only complete applications will be considered, with any missing information leading to automatic disqualification.
