The Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission (IEBC) has announced the resumption of Continuous Voter Registration (CVR) in Turkana West and Turkana North constituencies, alongside 29 other electoral areas across the country.
In a statement, IEBC Chairman Erastus Ethekon said the voter registration exercise will resume on Monday, January 12, 2026, after having been suspended to facilitate the November 27, 2025, by-elections.
The affected constituencies include Magarini, Galole, Fafi, Banissa, Machakos Town, Turkana North, Turkana West, Samburu North, Moiben, Keiyo South, Chesumei, Tiaty, Baringo North, Baringo Central, Baringo South, Mogotio, Eldama Ravine, Narok North, Kajiado Central, Khwisero, Kabuchai, Ugunja, Kasipul, West Mugirango, North Mugirango, Borabu and Embakasi North, among others.
“The Commission hereby announces the resumption of Continuous Voter Registration in the listed electoral areas,” Ethekon said, noting that the suspension had been necessitated by preparations for the by-elections.
IEBC encouraged eligible but unregistered voters in the affected areas to register in readiness for upcoming electoral activities, adding that further details are contained in Gazette Notice No. 336.
