Four young Kenyans who had gone missing under mysterious circumstances have reportedly been released by their abductors. Among them is 24-year-old Billy Mwangi, a college student who disappeared on December 21, 2024, in Embu Town. Billy returned home on Monday morning, much to the relief of his family.
Bernard Kavuli, another victim abducted in Ngong, was found in Kitale, while Rony Kiplangat, who had been missing, was discovered in Machakos County. Families and authorities are still piecing together the circumstances surrounding these incidents, even as investigations continue.
On Monday January 6, 2025 in the morning, the families of Billy Mwangi, Peter Muteti, Bernard Kavuli, and Rony Kiplangat reported that their loved ones had been found.
Mwangi and Muteti were able to meet their families in person.
Mwangi arrived at his father’s home in Majengo Monday morning, while Muteti’s family has also confirmed his safe return.
Upon his return, Mwangi was warmly embraced by his mother and other family members, bringing an end to the lengthy search that had seen the National Police Service distance itself from the alleged abductions.
Reports indicate that Rony was located in Machakos County, while Bernard Kavuli, who was taken from Ngong, was found in Kitale.
Peter Muteti was discovered in Nairobi CBD, and his family has reported that he is disoriented but is now recovering at home.
Although their abductors have not yet been identified, the four were discovered by Good Samaritans on Monday, and returned to their families.
