
Turkana Governor Jeremiah Lomorukai has effected a change in the deployment of a County Chief Officer through Executive Order No. 01/2026, appointing Peter Eregae Ikaru in an acting capacity.
According to a press statement issued by the Office of the Governor on 22nd January 2026, Ikaru, who serves as the County Chief Officer for Fisheries and Aquaculture, has been deployed as the Acting County Chief Officer for Livestock Development.
The appointment follows the resignation of Ezekiel Etelej, who previously held the Livestock Development docket. The Governor directed that the changes take effect immediately, signalling continuity in the management of one of the county’s key economic sectors.

Livestock remains a critical pillar of Turkana County’s economy, supporting livelihoods across the region, and the appointment is expected to ensure stability and sustained service delivery within the department
