President William Ruto has lauded the people of Ukambani as “the best” and assured them of full inclusion in national development, promising that the region will no longer be sidelined in government decisions.

Addressing residents during a visit to Kitui County on Thursday, November 13, 2025, the President said Ukambani had for years been subjected to political deceit but emphasized that his administration is committed to reversing that history.

“Sikizeni nyinyi watu wa Ukambani. Hii Ukambani imechezewa karata ya pata potea siku mingi,” Ruto said, accusing past political actors of misleading the region. “Acha niseme nikiwa hapa, the people of Ukambani are the best people, ni watu wazuri sana… Kama kuna watu watatangulia mbinguni ni watu wa Ukambani.”

Ruto further declared that Ukambani will hold a central position in the formation of the next government, assuring residents that they will actively participate in planning, policymaking, and national governance.

“Hii Ukambani haiwezi kuchezewa karata ya pata potea ya kuenda upinzani,” he said. “Kwa mapenzi ya Mungu… hii Ukambani tunatengeneza serikali 2027 pamoja na nyinyi.”

The President’s remarks come as he intensifies outreach across the country, rallying support ahead of the 2027 General Election.
