Paul Ekuwom Nabuin Dismisses Running Mate Claims Ahead of 2027 Polls

Paul Ekuwom Nabuin, the Turkana North MP, has dismissed as “baseless and misleading” claims circulating on social media alleging that he is being considered as a running mate to another candidate in the 2027 General Election.
In a strongly worded statement, the legislator termed the reports as propaganda intended to confuse the public and derail his political course.
“I wish to categorically state that these claims are entirely baseless and deliberately meant to mislead the public,” he said, urging those behind the claims to desist from spreading what he described as ignominious misinformation.
The MP acknowledged that consultations and engagements are ongoing among various gubernatorial aspirants across Turkana County. However, he maintained that attempts to link him to a running mate position were desperate tactics aimed at undermining what he described as a people-driven movement.
Ekuwom emphasized that his decision to vie for the gubernatorial seat was not self-imposed but inspired by the wishes and aspirations of the people of Turkana.
“I did not invite myself into this race. My decision to step forward has been guided solely by the voices of the great people of Turkana, who believe our county deserves better leadership,” he stated.
He further argued that Turkana requires “a calm, tried, and tested servant leader” capable of restoring hope, accountability, and sustainable development.
Reaffirming his commitment, the Turkana North MP said he remains focused and steadfast in his bid to serve the people of Turkana, dismissing the circulating claims as mere distractions from his political agenda.
