Wiper Party leader Kalonzo Musyoka has accused Deputy President Kithure Kindiki of engineering chaos that disrupted his rally in Kibong’a, Tharaka Nithi County.
The rally, held on Thursday, was thrown into disarray after a group of rowdy youths stormed the venue chanting pro-government slogans that drowned out Kalonzo’s speech. The crowd repeatedly shouted “two-term” chants, forcing the former vice president to cut short his address.
Speaking after the incident, Kalonzo condemned the disruption, claiming it was a deliberate act of intimidation planned by the Deputy President to silence alternative voices.
“This culture of hostility is fast becoming the trademark of the Kenya Kwanza administration. Leaders must embrace democracy and allow divergent opinions to flourish without intimidation,” he said.
Kalonzo warned that political intolerance was eroding the country’s democratic values, urging the government to safeguard the freedom of assembly and expression.
Despite the disruption, the Wiper leader vowed to continue with his nationwide tours, insisting that no amount of intimidation would deter him from championing issues affecting Kenyans.
