Ethekon: IEBC to Announce By-Election Dates After Internal Review

The Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission (IEBC) will release the schedule for upcoming by-elections once internal processes are completed, Chairperson Erastus Ethekon has confirmed.
“On the issue of timelines for the by-elections, we will be announcing the schedule once the operations committee gives all the information. Then we will communicate the details. Be patient—we will address the timelines,” Ethekon told reporters.
Ethekon acknowledged that the commission is facing practical challenges but assured Kenyans that IEBC is working around the clock to address them.
“There were some things that were out of our control, but we are working round the clock to execute all these activities as those who have been charged with the responsibility to take charge of the elections,” he said.
He further reiterated the commission’s commitment to delivering a clear framework for political campaigns and ensuring a credible election process.
