IEBC Opens Accreditation for Voter Education Providers, Election Observers, Media Practitioners Ahead of Elections | How To Apply

The Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission (IEBC) has officially announced the opening of its accreditation process for organizations interested in participating in Kenya’s upcoming electoral activities for the 2025/2026 financial year.
In a public notice released on Wednesday, 6th, IEBC is calling upon qualified organizations to apply for accreditation head of planned by-elections and other electoral events. They include;
- Voter Education Providers,
- Election Observers, and
- Media Practitioner.
How To Apply
All applications must be submitted through the IEBC Accreditation Management System (AMS) at https://ams.iebc.or.ke.
The Commission has emphasized the importance of stable internet connectivity during the submission process to ensure smooth application.
The deadline for submission is Friday, 5th September 2025, at 5:00 PM.
Special Requirements for Voter Education Providers
Organizations seeking accreditation specifically as Voter Education Providers must obtain a Physical Address Authentication Form from the respective County Election Manager’s office, complete it, and upload a scanned copy along with all other required documentation via the AMS portal.
Training and Certification
Once accredited, organizations will undergo official training by the Commission. Upon successful completion, IEBC will issue Accreditation Certificates, Identification Badges, and support materials necessary for field operations.
Important Clarification
In a highlighted note, IEBC clarified that it does not offer financial compensation to Voter Education Providers, Election Observers, or Media Practitioners.
