Raila Denied entry into Shakahola Forest, told to ask for Permission from Police IG

Azimio la Umoja leader Raila Odinga and a section of Kilifi county leaders have been denied entry into Shakahola mass grave site.
On Friday, May 5, the opposition leader landed in Shakahola in a bid to access the ongoing bodies exhumation and rescue operation in the farm linked to cult leader Paul Mackenzie.
However, the Police officers turned away Raila Odinga with instructions that he must have permission from the inspector general of Police, Japhet Koome.
“No one is allowed in the forest because the ongoing process here is delicate,” Peter Ndung’u, the senior assistant Police IG, told Odinga.
The Azimio leader heavily demanded his entry, claiming he travelled from Nairobi to Magarini, in Kilifi county purposely to witness the ongoing operation.
He argued that he can’t go back to Nairobi without seeing the scene.
“I want to access the forest so that I can be able to see the graves, I can’t travel all the way and go back without seeing the scene,” Raila Odinga said.
